The first time I treated Meowdoku like digit sudoku I wasted a heart. The store description I checked on 30 September 2026 is specific, so this is the version I follow.
The four rules
- One cat per colored region. The board is divided into colored sections. Each section gets exactly one cat.
- One cat per row and per column. Two cats never share a line. On an N×N board that means N cats.
- Cats cannot touch, even on a corner. After I place a cat I mentally cross out all eight neighbors, not only the row and column.
- Three hearts. The listing says you have three chances. A wrong placement spends a heart. I have not found an official sentence that says how hearts come back, so I do not invent a timer or an ad refill.
On the controls, the same listing says to double-tap a tile to place a cat. A hint, where the web guides describe one, points at a useful square. It does not drop the finished board on you. I still prefer to mark my own eliminated cells before I ask for that nudge.
A 4×4 walk I still use
Level 1 is a 4×4 with four cats. I put the first cat on row 1 column 3, then blocked that row, that column, and the diagonal neighbors. The other three landed on row 2 column 1, row 3 column 4, and row 4 column 2. The full cell list is on the level 1 page.
When you want to press the tiles yourself, use the practice board. It checks the same four rules. It is not the Oakever app and it does not connect to your account.
Questions I keep getting
Is Meowdoku sudoku?
Oakever’s listing says the puzzle blends Sudoku reasoning with Minesweeper deduction. You are not filling digits 1–9. You are placing one cat per colored region with a no-touch rule.
